Submarine Outlaw

The series begins with the submarine launch. Alfred’s first goal as an explorer is to circumnavigate Newfoundland and the East coast before winter sets in.  On his journey, he befriends an odd assortment of animals and people, is mistaken for a Russian spy sub, learns about human frailty in the face of natural forces, is nearly washed overboard, and discovers treasure, all the while eluding the coast guard. Step by step, we see how a typical, average young teen comes to live a very extraordinary experience, tackling peril after peril in his quest for adventure.
