A coming of age story about two young men in opposite circumstances during the violent siege of Louisbourg in 1745. One, Jacques, an educated and refined French cellist, is forced by his father into military duty; the other, Two Feathers, a wild and skilful Mi’kmaq warrior, searches for the identity of the father who abandoned him. When the smoke clears from the battlefield, the fortress is engulfed in flames. Betrayal revealed, and their father dead, this powerful story asks the question, how does blood bind us?
